Restart Steam</h2>\n<ol>\n<li>Close the Rust client</li>\n<li>Close Steam</li>\n<li>Re-Launch Steam</li>\n<li>Re-Launch Rust</li>\n</ol>\n<p>If the problem persists please move 2. Update Steam or try restarting your computer.</p>\n<h2 class=\"wysiwyg-text-align-left\">  2. Update Steam</h2>\n<p><img src=\"https://support.facepunchstudios.com/hc/article_attachments/360008260417/1gN4yIXsUi.gif\" alt=\"1gN4yIXsUi.gif\"></p>\n<ol>\n<li>Close the Rust client</li>\n<li>On the Steam client navigate to &gt; Steam &gt; Check for Steam client updates\n<ol>\n<li>If no updates are found please go to step 3. Opt-out of Steam betas</li>\n</ol>\n</li>\n<li>If prompted download and restart Steam</li>\n<li>Reopen the Rust client</li>\n</ol>\n<p>If you're still seeing the \"Steam not open?\" after updating Steam please proceeds to step 3. Opt-out of Steam betas</p>\n<h2 class=\"wysiwyg-text-align-left\">3. Opt-out of Steam betas</h2>\n<p><img src=\"https://support.facepunchstudios.com/hc/article_attachments/360008347558/mceclip1.png\" alt=\"mceclip1.png\"></p>\n<ol>\n<li>Close the Rust client</li>\n<li>On the Steam client navigate to &gt; Steam &gt; Settings</li>\n<li>Under \"Beta participation\" click \"Change\" which will open a new window</li>\n<li>On the \"Beta participation\" drop-down section select \"NONE - opt out..\"</li>\n<li>Apply any Steam updates if prompted.</li>\n<li>Restart Steam</li>\n<li>Open Rust client</li>\n</ol>\n<p>If you're still seeing the \"Steam not open?\" after this step please proceed to step 4.
