It is good practice, when possible, to ensure your Windows installation is on a Solid State Drive (SSD) with plenty of extra storage space to allow for updates and logs. Rust specifically performs better on an SSD as well.
In the event you are running into performance issues it is good to check and make sure your Windows Pagefile is not inadvertently set to a very low threshold.
Your computer should be set to allowing Windows to automatically manage it.
To get to these settings:
- Tap your windows key to open up search options
- Start typing out Advanced System Settings
- Click to open View advanced system settings
- Under the "Advanced" tab click "Settings" in the Performance section
- On this new window under the "Advanced" tab click on "Change" under the Virtual Memory section
- In this new Window ensure "Automatically manage paging file size for all drives".
- Click OK
In the event you needed to alter anything here it is good to restart the computer.
