Starting January 13th, 2025, Rust has banned the use of Reshade. Attempting to launch Rust with Reshade will now result in the following error.
You must remove all Reshade files from your Rust Steam directory and verify files.
Why Reshade is Banned
This decision was made to ensure fair gameplay. Reshade can provide players with significant advantages, such as enhancing visibility in low-light environments or altering the game’s graphics in ways that may give some players an unfair advantage. By prohibiting its use, Rust aims to create a more level playing field for all players and adhere to our anti-cheat terms of service.
