When you’re having crash-related issues with Rust we may ask you to provide ‘.dmp’ crash files so we can inspect the files and find where the problem occurred within the game’s code to give you the best possible support solutions and aid us in investigating the root cause to resolve within our development cycle.
Locating the Crash Dumps folder in Windows 11
Crash dumps will be found on your PC at C:\Users\USERNAME\AppData\Local\Temp\Facepunch Studios LTD\Rust\crashes - where USERNAME is the username you set for your PC.
OR
In Windows explorer type "%AppData%" and hit enter then navigate to \Local\Temp\Facepunch Studios LTD\Rust\crashes
To locate ‘AppData’, you may need to enable ‘Hidden Items’ under ‘View’ of the Windows File Explorer:
Once you have located the CrashDumps folder, please sort by ‘Date Modified’ and provide us with the most recent .dmp crash file that relates to the time of your crash. And if you have not already done so, please also provide us with a detailed description of what you were doing in-game when the crash occurred.
